EPEAT products planned for registration
VAIO is committed to meeting the standards required by EPEAT (IEEE 1680.1™). The EPEAT products planned for registration can be found by searching the EPEAT registry. VAIO offers the following products and services for EPEAT registered products:
Identification of materials and components requiring selective treatment (4.3.1.1)
VAIO makes available to reuse and recycling facilities information on how to identify the presence and location of all materials and components that require selective treatment. To obtain this information, contact VAIO by e-mail (epeat_contact@vaio.com) for the username and password.
Spare Parts (4.4.2.3)
VAIO offers customers of all EPEAT-registered products the option to purchase certain compatible spare parts (same specifications or higher specification parts) within 5 years after the end of production to increase the operational life of that product.
A listing of available spare parts by product can be obtained by contacting a VAIO support center.
To obtain this information, contact VAIO by e-mail (epeat_contact@vaio.com) for the username and password.
Battery Replacement Information (4.4.2.4)
EPEAT-registered products may contain batteries that are replaceable once they reach the end of their useful life. For main product rechargeable batteries, such as powering notebook PCs, battery replacement services can be obtained by contacting a VAIO support center, either in warranty or out of warranty.
After contacting, if VAIO support center determines to need to replace battery with the product requiring to be sent to VAIO support center.
Product Upgradeability & Repairability (4.4.2.5)
For EPEAT-registered products, VAIO makes available a minimum number of product upgrade or repair features available after purchase of the product. The hardware features that are upgradeable or replaceable without soldering or de-soldering and using only commonly available tools are listed in the table below.
Available hardware features may only be offered as part of an upgrade, repair, or replacement service offered by a VAIO support center.
For a description of the repair or upgrade method for your product, including a list of required tools, please contact a VAIO support center. Damages caused by servicing of products by non-authorized VAIO support center or use of modified or non-VAIO authorized parts or components is not covered by VAIO Limited Warranty.
