Product Security

In recent years, it has become commonplace for a wide variety of products to connect to the internet, dramatically increasing convenience. However, this connectivity also brings with it numerous growing risks, such as data breaches and malfunctions caused by malicious third-party attacks, including hacking and malware that exploit security vulnerabilities.

VAIO Corporation has established security teams responsible for taking the following actions for all products. These measures are designed to minimize risk and prevent software vulnerabilities and malware from entering the production process for the products they design and manufacture.

Design that Keeps Product Security Risks in Mind

We develop products with security in mind from the initial stages of development. We follow security guidelines that we formulate and regularly review, aiming to identify the assets our company needs to protect, implement designs that consider these assets, and proactively use recommended security technologies. We are also working to minimize risks to our customers by preparing methods in advance to easily apply vulnerability correction programs in the event of an emergency.

Minimizing Security Risks during Production

We are working to minimize risks by conducting checks at the start of production and regular internal inspections to prevent unintended malware from entering our manufacturing process.

Post-Shipment Support

We have a system that continually monitors security incidents related to our products. This system works to mitigate risks by performing inspections for potential threats that could affect our products. When a security risk is identified, we promptly provide an update to address it.
