The birth of VAIO took place in 1997, about a quarter of a century ago, first emerging as Sony Corporation’s brand of personal computers. With our focus on offering lightweight and thin mobile laptop computers, VAIO products became a favorite of people of all generations around the world. Even after becoming independent from Sony in 2014, we inherited that tradition and continue to create high-performance, high-quality products at our head office factory in Azumino City, Nagano Prefecture, located at the foot of the Northern Japan Alps mountains.

Our belief is that VAIO products must always be one step ahead of the times and embody three distinctive traits: they must be “Inspiring”, “Ingenious”, and “Genuine”.
Behind this is our desire to ensure that our products are always close to our customers and act as a good lifestyle companion to provide a superior computing experience.
