Safety
VAIO Corporation designs its PCs in compliance with the Electrical Appliance and Material Safety Act as well as the international safety standard IEC 62368-1 to protect customers from risks such as fire and electric shock.
Additionally, to ensure our products can be used with greater confidence and safety, we conduct hazard assessments at various design stages. These assessments cover over 120 safety verification checkpoints.
Electrical Appliance and Material Safety Act (PSE)
The Electrical Appliance and Material Safety Act (PSE) is a law aimed at preventing hazards and accidents caused by electrical products by regulating their manufacturing and sales while promoting self-regulation by private businesses.
AC adapters and power cords are classified as “Specified Electrical Appliances” under PSE.
Lithium-ion batteries fall under “Non-Specified Electrical Appliances” covered by PSE.
PC main units are not subject to PSE regulations.

IEC 62368-1
IEC 62368-1 is an international safety standard for audio/video, information, and communication technology equipment.
Hazard Assessment
Hazard assessment is VAIO’s unique product safety initiative that evaluates potential hazards from the customer’s perspective. This process considers foreseeable misuse, various usage environments, and the product’s condition to identify risks and implement measures to mitigate them.
EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility)
VAIO Corporation’s PCs comply with VCCI Class B technical standards regarding electromagnetic interference (noise) that could affect the operation of other electronic devices. Products that meet these standards display the VCCI Mark.

VCCI Class B
VCCI stands for the Voluntary Control Council for Interference by Information Technology Equipment. The VCCI Mark indicates compliance with VCCI technical standards and can only be displayed by VCCI member companies. Class B is intended for use in residential environments.
Wireless
VAIO Corporation’s PCs are certified under the Radio Act to ensure that wireless functions such as 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth do not interfere with public radio frequencies.

Radio Act
The Radio Act is a law designed to promote public welfare by ensuring fair and efficient use of radio frequencies.
Telecommunications
VAIO Corporation’s PCs are certified under the Telecommunications Business Act to prevent damage to telecommunications networks and interference with wireless communications.

Telecommunications Business Act
The Telecommunications Business Act aims to ensure the proper and efficient operation of telecommunications services while promoting fair competition. It seeks to protect users’ interests, support the healthy development of telecommunications, and enhance public welfare.
